The European Commission is preparing <strong>precise design criteria<\/strong> (the so-called design for recycling), <strong>recyclability requirements<\/strong>, <strong>clearer and more standardised labelling<\/strong>, and <strong>greater traceability of packaging throughout the entire supply chain<\/strong>, including its end-of-life management.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text_color=&#8221;color-122249&#8243; text_font=&#8221;font-547818&#8243; text_size=&#8221;h5&#8243; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;114685&#8243; text_color_type=&#8221;uncode-palette&#8221;]Practical implications[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;134006&#8243;]To begin with, the materials used will change. Above all, packaging will have to meet new requirements in terms of weight reduction, favouring ultra-light solutions. This means that the regulation will directly impact the very structure of packaging: <strong>complex laminated films and solutions incompatible with existing recycling systems will gradually disappear<\/strong>.
