THE COMPANY
Besides being the world’s more ancient fruit brand, Fyffes represents, nowadays, one of the main international pineapple distributor and the first supplier of bananas in Europe. With more than 6000 employees and offices located in 12 different countries, Fyffes also operates in North, Central and South America.
THE REQUEST
The company, which was building a high-automation warehouse in Costa Rica, for packaging pineapples, was looking for an extremely fast strapping machine capable of guaranteeing 9 ligatures in 2 minutes. In addition, the machine had to be equipped with an automatic corner applicator. None of the manufacturers consulted had been able to ensure such results.
OUR SOLUTION
For Fyffes REV projected and realised an upgrade of its traditional strapping machine, by modifying both the corner applicator and the binding process and succeeding, this way, not only in satisfying the numbers required by the company but going even further: Bull strapping machine, indeed, applies the corners to the pallets by means of 9 strappings in 1 minute and 45 seconds, that is to say far below the time requested.
PLUS
In order to ensure the best service possible, the strapping machine has also been equipped with a teleassistance system, for facilitating remote interventions and, thus, allowing the customer to minimise potential machine stops.
